  1. Improvements will be coming to Don White Memorial Park. The city government recently signed a $483,650 task order with Starr Whitehouse for construction documents related to the project. Starr Whitehouse, a landscape architecture firm, has been working on multiple river parks projects throughout the city. The task order that was issued will permit the firm to complete all construction documents, and give aid to the city in the bidding process. Some of the improvements may include the realignment and repaving of the Riverwalk Trail, new trail lighting, a new entryway, and ADA parking at the Nantahala Outdoor Center. (Paywall: AJC)
  2. Explore Georgia is back, this time to explore and rate the city's barbeque restaurants. There are many in the nearby area, but only three made their list. Bayou'Q, Spiced Right Ribhouse, and Slope's BBQ of Roswell all made the list. Each was scored on the unique flair they give to their barbeque. Their service and ambiance were also explored and rated. The barbeque and the entire the culinary scene in the city continues to be named on top lists throughout Metro Atlanta. (Newsbreak)
  3. The Summer Sippin' competition was held from ran from Jun. 13 to Aug. 15, and 61 local establishments participated in the communitywide event. Each business created their own unique beverage just for the occasion. Madrid Spanish Taverna won the alcoholic beverage category with their special drink called Flor De Espana. Pop’s Coffee Company was the other winner. Their their Orange Creamcycle Latte dominate the non-alcoholic drink category. Both businesses thanked the City of Roswell for holding this competition. This annual event was created with the goal to increase economic growth and tourism in Roswell. (Newsbreak)

  • City of Roswell, Georgia Recreation and Parks: Opportunities are still available to become a Community Partner for the 2023 Youth Day Celebration. This year's theme is β€œSounds of Roswell.” There is no charge to become a Community Partner; the application and more information can be found on the city's website.   • Keep Roswell Beautiful (KRB): On Sept. 26, KRB will speak at the Roswell Garden Club meeting about how essential native plants are and how they help beautify the city. They will also enlighten the audience on how KRB uses native plants in their volunteer projects.   • City of Roswell, Georgia Fire Department: This week the Roswell FD joined the Sandy Springs FD in training operations at the Roswell-Alpharetta Public Safety Training Center.   • City of Roswell, Georgia Government: There will be two meetings next week at Roswell City Hall. The Mayor and City Council meeting will be first, and will held on Monday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. The Community Development and Transportation Committee will take place the following day, Aug. 29, and will begin at 5 p.m. Both meetings are open to the public and will be held in-person.
