    Homemade Raw Oats Milk

    This is one recipe which i wanted to try for a very long time..It is a raw oats milk recipe, so healthy and more important it is vegan, gluten free, dairy free and a healthy diet recipe. If you are in diet and you miss your milkshakes, then add this milk into your milkshakes and enjoy life..

    Ingredients for Homemade Raw Oats Milk

    • Oats - 1 cup ( use old fashioned or rolled)
    • Water - 2 cups + 3 cups for grinding
    • Sugar or Honey to taste
    • Vanilla Essence or Cardamom Powder to taste

    These taste good on its own, but you can add it to black coffee, but they taste great when made into milkshakes and smoothies..

    How to Make Homemade Raw Oats Milk

    1. Take oats in a bowl, add in 2 cups of water and soak them for 30 mins.
    2. Now take them in a blender and puree them, add more water if needed.
    3. Strain this and take the pulp back in the blender and add more water and puree again. Strain this again.
    4. Now discard the pulp or use them in baking or cooking.
    5. Strain the milk one more time.
    6. Add in sugar and vanilla to taste.
    7. Chill for couple of hours.
    8. Serve cold.

      I am going to try this right away.

      BTW this reminds me of the coconut milk that i make at home. I have a Preethi coconut/fruit/tamarind extractor jar which am planning to use for this. Lazy me already plotting to eliminate one more step (sieving) from this super simple brilliant recipe.

      wouldn't we lose the fiber content of oats if we use the milk ? whats the nutrient value retained the the oats milk.. I understand its cholesterol free... pls clarify...

      @Anonymousthis is a option for dairy free diet. since we are extracting as much milk possible, i think the fibers wont be lost
