Homemade guacamole doesn't have to be hard to make! Take a few simple ingredients like fresh avocados, tomatoes, onion and garlic to create a delicious dip or appetizer!
Is there anything better than homemade guacamole? Because I’m fairly certain it can’t be beat! We use fresh and simple ingredients in this recipe to create a delicious, fool-proof guacamole that you’ll be craving again as soon as it’s gone.
We like making our Easy Guacamole as an appetizer, side dish, and topping!
Guacamole Ingredients list:
- ripe avocados
- small onion
- minced garlic
- tomato
- lime juice
- salt and pepper
How to Make Easy Guacamole
You’ll be surprised at how easy this recipe is to whip together! Here’s how you do it:
Start by slicing your avocados, removing the pit, and mashing them up. We recommend using a fork or a chop-stir to make this easiest!
Once mashed, stir in your onion, garlic, tomatoes, lime juice, and salt and pepper.
Chill your guacamole for a half an hour to let the flavors combine. We wouldn’t recommend making this much sooner than a half an hour before serving, because the avocados will darken in color.
Store your guacamole in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. It will begin to brown after 2 days because of the avocados.
What can I serve with guacamole?
Guacamole is obviously delicious just with chips or crackers, but we use it in a lot of our other recipes too! Here are some suggestions on how to serve your Easy Guacamole.

See AlsoSloppy Joe Casserole RecipeSalsa is so easy to make and so great fresh!
I make up a different recipe every time I make it.
Chop up tomato, onion, garlic and a little drizzle of olive oil.
I like to add mango/corn/peach, especially with fish tacos.
Cilantro & pepper to taste.
Peppers are also good!!!

Guacamole should always be made with onion, tomato and cilantro--don't chop just the leaves, chop the stems too as it gives it more flavor.
The use of garlic is bizarre--and I say this coming from a Hispanic household (must be an American palette as authentic guacamole is not made with this). If you want your guacamole to last a few days, don't add the salt, just the lime juice to prevent browning. Salt to taste once you've served your own portion. Use plastic wrap and pat down the wrap to the guacamole, cover and refrigerate and enjoy the next day.
The same goes for when you're making Pico de Gallo (tomato, onion, & cilantro salsa) add a touch of lemon/lime juice --NO SALT if you want it to last a few days. Just add salt to taste once you've served your own portion. If you put salt on the salsa and you plan on using it the next day, you'll have a very watery salsa with wilted looking tomatoes.

You can also put the avocado pit (whole) in with the guacamole dip to prevent it from browning. I think it looks kinda cool that way too :)
